Students: Stop by McDonald's for your free FCAT breakfast

Students, before you head to school Tuesday morning and take the FCAT, stop by McDonald's.

All McDonald's restarurants in Florida will give free breakfast to help students get ready for the test.

The deal allows students to enjoy an Egg McMuffin, Apple Dippers and milk or orange juice from 6 a.m. 9 a.m.

Students need to be present to get the free meal and students under the age of 15 must have a parent with them. A school ID is not required. Students just need to say they are taking the FCAT that day.

There are 30 McDonalds locations in Brevard County. To find the one closest to you click here.

Third- fourth- and sixth- through 10th-graders will take the reading exam Tuesday. Fifth-graders take the math portion that day.

Florida's Comprehensive Assessment Tests run through March 19 and include a science portion. Writing exams were given last month.

The exams help decide a schools letter grade, which determines if a school receives bonus money or is penalized. Brevard consistently has some of the top FCAT scores in the state.

Tell us what you think. Do you plan to take your students to McDonald's before they take the big exam?

McDonalds has slow service and long breakfast lines on a good day. How is this going to get the kids to school on time?

While I think it's a nice gesture, this is going to make the kids late for school and rushed to start the test. This will cause more anxiety in the students. Maybe a better idea would have been a congratulations you made it through the test breakfast or lunch instead. I see a huge mess for the students and the schools tomorrow.

Lots of kids were late today for FCAT at my daughter's school. Come on parents...use your head. Cook breakfast at home or take advantage of the free breakfast offered at your child's school everyday!!! Stay away from McDonald's. The idea of waiting in line for a free egg mcmuffin is ridiculous. Get them to school on time. I will give you the stupid dollar!

Kudos to McDonald's and thank you!! As a responsible parent, I planned extra time for this morning's treat. Our McDonald's was not prepared for the number of guests who visited this morning, but planning ahead allowed us the extra time needed so we weren't even close to being late!

Excellent Opportunity to Study
Creativity is a blessing from nature but we can develop it by careful planning through education. This is all the more important in a country like USA where we accept even the mediocre to contribute their best and create something new.
Hence, it is necessary that parents and teachers provide healthy conditions at home and the school. This would enable children to express themselves and contribute something new for the society, which may be termed as creativity……….
